Rate limits
Limits differ by environment. Sandbox limits are fixed and documented in full below. Production limits scale with your plan.
Sandbox
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Requests | 60 per minute |
| Requests | 500 per day |
| SMS | 5 per day |
| Emails | 10 per day |
| Patients | 100 max |
| Forms | 20 max |
These are hard caps, not soft warnings, sandbox messages (SMS/email) are actually sent, so the daily message caps exist to keep testing from generating real message-provider traffic. See Sandbox for what else is testing-specific about this environment.
Production
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Authenticated requests (per team) | 1,000 per minute |
| Unauthenticated requests | 100 per minute |
Authenticated production requests are throttled at 1,000 requests per minute per team. Unauthenticated requests are limited to 100 per minute. If your integration needs a higher limit, contact your Zentake account team.
What happens when you hit a limit
The spec doesn't define a documented 429 response body (see
Errors), so
treat a 429 as a signal to back off and retry rather than parsing its
body for details. A conservative approach: read any Retry-After header
if present, otherwise apply exponential backoff.
